A Toronto police officer was hospitalized after a cruiser was hit by a suspected stolen vehicle in North York.
Police say the incident began just after 5 p.m. when an Automated Licence Plate Recognition system flagged a vehicle near Sheppard Avenue West and Allen Road. As officers attempted to stop it, the driver allegedly rammed the police cruiser while trying to escape.
The suspect then abandoned the vehicle and ran but was quickly arrested nearby. One officer sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening, and no other injuries were reported. The investigation remains ongoing.
