Police in Windsor are seeking public assistance after a vehicle crashed into a bus shelter and fled the scene earlier this month.
The incident happened around 6:13 p.m. on March 1 at the northwest corner of University Avenue West and Bruce Avenue, where a white sedan smashed into the shelter, destroying its glass panels.
After the collision, officers say a man and a woman exited the car and exchanged seats. The vehicle then left the area, heading north on Janette Avenue, without reporting the crash.
At the time, the woman was described as wearing a grey sweater, a long dark skirt, and a dark hijab, while the man was dressed in dark clothing.
Investigators are urging anyone in the vicinity to review security or dashcam footage for possible evidence and to contact police with any information.
Update – A 22-year-old woman has surrendered to Windsor police on March 20 and now faces a charge of careless driving.
