Two people suffered minor burns in a house fire in Kitchener on Tuesday afternoon.
Fire crews responded just before 5 p.m. to a home on Oldfield Drive, near Ottawa Street North and Lackner Boulevard. The fire began in an attached garage and spread into the attic.
Officials say the garage sustained heavy damage, with total losses estimated at about $300,000. The two residents were treated for minor burns and checked for smoke inhalation, with one person taken to hospital as a precaution.
