Police are investigating an early morning shooting in Etobicoke that led to a vehicle pursuit and crash in a residential neighbourhood.
Officers responded around 3:30 a.m. Thursday to reports of gunfire near Islington Avenue and Lake Shore Boulevard. At the scene, they found evidence of shots fired outside a commercial property that houses a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu studio. No injuries were reported.
Following the shooting, one or more suspects fled by vehicle, prompting a police chase through nearby streets. The pursuit ended near Royal York Road and North Drive, where the suspect vehicle lost control and crashed into the front yard of a home. The occupants then fled on foot.
Despite the crash, no one at the residence was hurt. Police have not released suspect descriptions or confirmed whether any weapons have been recovered. The investigation remains ongoing.
