A serious two-vehicle collision in Markham on Friday afternoon left a father and his two young children injured, with two in critical condition. The crash happened at around 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of Major Mackenzie Drive and Stonebridge Drive, near McCowan Road, involving a Mercedes and a Subaru.

According to investigators, one of the vehicles crossed the centre median, resulting in a head-on impact. The Subaru’s driver sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital. Two children in the same vehicle were also injured, with one in critical condition and the other suffering minor injuries.

The Mercedes driver was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are asking any witnesses who have not yet come forward, as well as anyone with dashcam footage from the area at the time, to assist with the ongoing investigation.
