A 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision Sunday afternoon in Scarborough, Toronto police confirmed. Emergency crews responded to the Oakridge neighborhood, near Danforth Avenue and Byng Avenue, around 3:05 p.m.
Investigators say a Toyota Highlander, traveling east on Danforth Avenue, attempted to turn left into a plaza when it collided with a westbound Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle. The impact caused the motorcyclist to lose control and hit a parked vehicle. The rider was rushed to the hospital but was later pronounced dead.
The SUV driver stayed at the scene, and police have launched an investigation into the incident.
