Greg Parise admitted in a Sault Ste. Marie court to two impaired driving offences stemming from a fatal crash in April 2025. The incident claimed the life of 15-year-old Connor Dunn, who was riding an e-bike, and left another teenager injured.

Parise, who was 18 at the time, acknowledged responsibility for both the death and the injuries caused. The collision occurred around 1 a.m. when he turned a pickup truck onto Third Line West and struck the two teens. He initially told police he had consumed nine beers, later revising that to six. Testing showed his blood alcohol level was significantly above the legal limit.

Dunn died from blunt force injuries, while the second teen survived but continues to deal with a lasting leg injury.

In court, it was noted that the prosecution and defence remain far apart on sentencing, making a joint recommendation unlikely. A background report is being prepared ahead of sentencing arguments, which are scheduled for mid-August.

The offence carries a potential maximum penalty of life imprisonment under Canadian law.
