A road maintenance worker was injured in a hit-and-run on Highway 401 in Ajax Monday afternoon.
Ontario Provincial Police say the incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes near Westney Road, where crews were carrying out pothole repairs. A vehicle struck a male worker before leaving the scene.
The worker suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police say they have obtained a description of the vehicle involved and plan to follow up with the driver. The westbound lanes of Highway 401 at Westney Road were temporarily closed but have since reopened.
