A road rage incident northeast of Kingston has resulted in charges against a Caledon man and sent another driver to hospital.
Leeds County OPP say they were called just after 11 p.m. Wednesday to a rear-end collision on Highway 15 near Freeland Road involving two vehicles. Investigators determined the situation escalated into a physical altercation after the crash, leaving one man injured and requiring treatment at a trauma centre. The other driver fled the scene.
With help from members of the public, police later located the suspect’s heavily damaged vehicle nearby and arrested the driver about an hour after the incident.
A 39-year-old man from Caledon is facing charges including assault causing bodily harm, dangerous driving, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, and driving while under suspension. He has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Brockville on May 29.
