A 19-year-old driver from Englehart has been charged with impaired driving following a single-vehicle crash on Long Lake Road in Charlton, Ontario.

Police say officers were called to the scene around 6:30 a.m. on April 16 after a report of a black vehicle in a ditch. When they arrived, they found one occupant and determined through their investigation that alcohol had been consumed.

The driver was arrested and taken to a police detachment for further testing. As a result, the individual faces two impaired driving charges, including operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit.

The vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days. The accused is expected to appear in traffic court at a later date.
