A serious two-vehicle crash shut down a stretch of Highway 17 in Greater Sudbury for several hours on Tuesday.
Ontario Provincial Police say the collision happened on the bypass shortly before 2 p.m., about four kilometres south of the Kingsway. The closure affected both directions of the highway between the Kingsway and the Highway 69 junction.
Officers initially said injuries were being assessed and warned drivers to expect a lengthy shutdown while crews investigated and cleared the scene.
The roadway reopened shortly before 9 p.m. Police have not released further details about injuries or whether any charges may be laid.
