One person has died and three others were injured following a serious two-vehicle crash in Ottawa’s south end near the Nepean Sportsplex.
Emergency crews responded around 5:20 p.m. to the intersection of Woodroffe Avenue and Slack Road, where an SUV and a sedan had crashed. Paramedics say a woman in her 50s was pronounced dead at the scene, while another man from the same vehicle was taken to hospital with serious but stable injuries.
The two people in the second vehicle, a man and a woman, were also transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have closed roads in the area, including Woodroffe Avenue between West Hunt Club Road and Fallowfield Road, and Slack Road between Woodroffe Avenue and Vaan Drive. Drivers are being advised to avoid the area.
