A fatal collision involving a school bus and a passenger vehicle in Caledon has left one man dead and temporarily closed a major roadway.
Ontario Provincial Police say the crash occurred around 12:05 p.m. Friday on Mayfield Road, west of Innis Lake Road. The incident involved a school bus carrying eight occupants and a sedan.
The driver of the sedan, a 78-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The school bus driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the passengers on the bus were not physically hurt.
Police have not determined the cause of the collision. Mayfield Road was closed for several hours between Airport Road and Innis Lake Road but has since reopened.
