A 41-year-old driver from Huron East is facing several charges after a pedestrian was struck at an intersection in Clinton, Huron County, on April 22.
Emergency crews responded shortly after 3 p.m. to the area of Smith Street and Ontario Street, where they found an individual who had been hit by a passenger vehicle. The victim was first taken to a local hospital and then airlifted to London with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the driver stayed at the scene. Charges were later laid, including careless driving causing bodily harm, as well as failing to provide both a vehicle permit and a driver’s licence when requested.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court in Goderich at a future date.
