A motorcyclist has been seriously injured following a collision with a car in Mississauga.
Peel Regional Police say the crash happened shortly after 1 p.m. near Eglinton Avenue West and Terry Fox Way, west of Mavis Road. Emergency crews responded to reports of a motorcycle and vehicle collision in the area.
The rider, an adult man, was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition, while paramedics described his condition as serious upon transport. The driver of the car remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
Road closures are in effect as police continue their investigation. Westbound Eglinton Avenue West is closed at Heatherlea Drive, and southbound Terry Fox Way is shut down at Focal Road, causing delays in the surrounding area.
