A fatal early-morning crash in East Gwillimbury has left one person dead and four others hospitalized.
Police say the single-vehicle collision occurred around 12:35 a.m. at the intersection of Doane Road and Leslie Street, with five teenagers inside the car at the time. One of them was pronounced dead at the scene.
The remaining four occupants were taken to hospital. Three sustained life-threatening injuries, while another suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators have not yet determined what caused the crash. A section of Leslie Street was temporarily closed between Jeffery Crescent and Seaview Heights but reopened by early afternoon.
Police are asking anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
