A 42-year-old Greater Sudbury woman has died following a single-vehicle crash early Monday on Highway 69.

Ontario Provincial Police say officers responded to the collision around 2:50 a.m. The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.

The crash led to the closure of southbound lanes near the Highway 17 junction for several hours, though the roadway reopened around 10 a.m.

Investigators, including OPP collision reconstruction teams, are working to determine the cause. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or may have dashcam footage to come forward.
