A 29-year-old woman from Markham has died after a collision involving a motorcycle and another vehicle in Scarborough early Monday morning.
Toronto police say the crash occurred around 7:37 a.m. at Birchmount Road and McNicoll Avenue. Officers found the motorcyclist with critical injuries; she was taken to hospital but later died.
A Dodge Caravan was also involved. The 79-year-old woman driving it remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Police have not released details about what led to the collision.
The area of Birchmount Road between McNicoll Avenue and north of Ivy Bush Boulevard was closed for several hours but reopened later in the day.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police are asking witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
