A Kitchener driver is facing charges after a hit-and-run involving a hydro pole on Monday morning.

Waterloo Regional Police say officers were called around 8:55 a.m. to the area of Stirling Avenue South and Lorne Crescent, where a vehicle had struck a hydro pole. The driver had left the scene before police arrived.

Police later located the driver nearby and charged a 40-year-old Kitchener man with careless driving and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
