Two drivers were hospitalized following a crash at a major Kitchener intersection early Tuesday morning.
The collision occurred around 5:55 a.m. at Fischer-Hallman Road and University Avenue West, forcing a road closure for several hours.
Police say a 72-year-old man from Waterloo, who was driving a Volvo, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. The other driver, a 26-year-old man from Kitchener in a Ford, was also transported to hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities say charges are anticipated.
