A 78-year-old man is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Etobicoke on Tuesday morning.
Emergency crews responded to the intersection of Dundas Street West and Islington Avenue just before 8 a.m. Police say the driver was turning right from Islington onto Dundas when the pedestrian was hit in a crosswalk.
The man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver stayed at the scene.
The intersection was closed in both directions for several hours while police investigated but reopened around midday.
