Toronto Police Service are looking into a crash in the city’s east end that occurred early Sunday morning and involved an impaired driver.
The incident took place around 3:30 a.m. near Victoria Park Avenue and Curlew Drive, where officers discovered a single occupant in the vehicle that struck a pole before it caught fire. No injuries were reported.
Police say the driver was arrested at the scene and charged with impaired driving. Authorities have not released the individual’s identity.
The area has since been cleared, though municipal crews were still expected to repair the damaged pole.
