A 25-year-old cyclist from Southwest Middlesex has died following a deadly collision with a vehicle on Monday.
Ontario Provincial Police say the crash occurred around 12:17 p.m. on Melbourne Road between Inadale Drive and Olde Drive, roughly nine kilometres south of Strathroy. Emergency crews transported the cyclist to hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. Their identity has not been released.
Police say the driver was taken to hospital as a precaution. Few other details about the circumstances of the collision have been made public while the investigation continues.
The roadway was closed for several hours as investigators examined the scene but reopened later in the evening.
