A Wahnapitae woman, 48, is facing several impaired driving-related charges following a single-vehicle crash in West Nipissing over the weekend.

Ontario Provincial Police say officers responded to Highway 539 on May 10 around 12:50 p.m. after a vehicle was found in a ditch. No injuries were reported.

Police say the driver was taken into custody at the scene and later transported to an OPP detachment for further testing after being arrested for impaired operation.

Following the investigation, she was charged with impaired driving with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit, driving without an insurance card, and having an open container of liquor in a motor vehicle.

Her driver’s licence was automatically suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear in North Bay court on July 2.
