York Regional Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a train in Markham on Wednesday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Euclid and Eureka streets shortly before 8:45 a.m. following reports of a person being hit by a train near the Centennial GO Station.

Paramedics located the individual and attempted treatment at the scene, but the person showed no vital signs.

The incident temporarily disrupted GO train service through the area as investigators responded. Police said roads nearby remained open, although a significant emergency presence was expected while the investigation continued.
