Police are investigating a crash in south Barrie after a vehicle slammed into a traffic light Wednesday afternoon.
The collision happened at the intersection of Mapleview Drive and Huronia Road. Investigators say the driver was travelling at an excessively high speed at the time of the crash.
The driver was taken to a local hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
Authorities temporarily closed the intersection while crews responded and investigated the scene. Barrie police later confirmed the roads reopened around 1:30 p.m.
