Grey Bruce Public Health is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the owners of a dog involved in a biting incident at the Kincardine Dog Park earlier this week.
The incident occurred May 19 at approximately 12:30 p.m. at the park on Bruce Avenue. Officials say a man was bitten while attempting to separate his own dogs from another animal during an altercation.
The dog involved is described as a mixed breed with black fur and white markings. At the time of the incident, the animal was reportedly accompanied by a woman believed to be in her mid-20s and a man estimated to be in his 30s.
Public health officials say they are trying to verify the dog’s rabies status. Confirming the animal is healthy could prevent the victim from needing post-exposure rabies treatment.
Anyone with information about the dog or its owners is being urged to contact Grey Bruce Public Health as the investigation continues.
