Firefighters in Toronto brought a two-alarm townhouse fire under control Thursday after a blaze broke out in the city’s Lawrence Park area near Sunnybrook Hospital.

The fire started around 11:15 a.m. at a townhouse complex, where officials say flames erupted on a rooftop patio and quickly produced a large column of smoke visible from the surrounding area. The incident was escalated to a second alarm, prompting additional crews and resources to respond.

Firefighters were able to contain and extinguish the blaze, and no injuries were reported. Toronto police said the fire is not considered suspicious.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the rooftop fire.
