A fatal collision involving a dump truck is under investigation in Scugog after a head-on crash early Friday morning.
Durham Regional Police say the incident occurred around 6:50 a.m. near Highway 7/12 and Blue Mountain Road, where a passenger vehicle and a dump truck collided.
When emergency crews arrived, the passenger vehicle was already engulfed in flames. The driver of that vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
The dump truck driver was checked at the scene for injuries, police said.
Ontario Provincial Police will take over the investigation due to jurisdictional responsibility.
