A collision involving a fuel tanker and a passenger bus disrupted traffic on Highway 11 north of Barrie Friday morning.

The crash occurred in the northbound lanes near Line 3 and led to significant delays in the area.

Emergency crews responded to the scene where the bus driver was removed from the vehicle by Simcoe County paramedics and transported to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre with non-life-threatening injuries.

Firefighters also worked to contain a diesel spill from the tanker while securing the site and assisting with traffic control.

Authorities are warning motorists, including cottagers travelling through the region, to expect ongoing delays while cleanup and recovery efforts continue.
