According to the Ontario Provincial Police, officers from the Mississauga detachment responded Friday night to reports of a stolen vehicle at a highway service centre south of Guelph. Police allege the vehicle sped away before colliding with another car on the highway.

Three occupants of the second vehicle were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

One 16-year-old from Hamilton is facing multiple charges, including dangerous driving causing bodily harm, fleeing police, failing to remain at the scene of a crash, and possession of stolen property valued over $5,000.

Four additional teens from Hamilton, Dundas, and Mississauga have each been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

All five accused are scheduled to appear in court in July. The Special Investigations Unit has launched an investigation into the events surrounding the collision.
