A 75-year-old resident of Norfolk County has died after a serious two-vehicle collision on Sunday, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.
Emergency crews, including Norfolk County OPP officers, Ornge air ambulance, firefighters and paramedics, were called to the intersection of Villa Nova Road and Concession 3 Townsend shortly after noon.
Police said the driver of a pickup truck suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was identified as a 75-year-old from Norfolk County.
The driver and two passengers travelling in an SUV were taken to hospital with injuries, though the extent of those injuries has not yet been released.
Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash, and road closures remain in effect in the area. Police said Concession 3 is expected to stay closed for another four to six hours.
