Two people were hospitalized after a fire broke out at a commercial property in Toronto on Sunday afternoon.
The incident occurred in the York area near Eglinton Avenue West and Dufferin Street. According to Toronto Police Service, emergency crews were called shortly after 4 p.m. following reports of an electrical fire inside a business.
Authorities said everyone inside the building was able to evacuate safely before crews arrived. Toronto Fire Services responded to contain the blaze.
Two people were taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation, while no additional injuries were reported.
Road closures remain in effect on Eglinton Avenue West at Dufferin Street, and drivers are being advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
