A 28-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Chatham on Tuesday night.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of McNaughton Avenue East and Taylor Avenue around 8:32 p.m. following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a single vehicle.
Chatham-Kent police said the injured pedestrian, a woman from Chatham, was treated at the scene before being transported for medical care. Her injuries were described as serious.The driver, a 66-year-old Chatham woman, was not hurt in the incident.
The Traffic Management Unit took over the investigation, leading to a temporary closure of the intersection while officers examined the scene.
The roadway has since reopened, and the investigation remains ongoing.
