A male pedestrian has been killed after being struck by a car in Toronto’s west end in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Toronto police say the incident happened around 1:19 a.m. near Old Park Road and Eglinton Avenue West, where a Honda Accord travelling westbound hit a man who was crossing the roadway from north to south.
Emergency responders provided life-saving efforts at the scene, but the man was pronounced dead.
The driver, a 23-year-old man, stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Police have not said whether any charges will be laid.
The area remains partially closed as the investigation continues, and officers are asking witnesses or anyone with dash camera footage to contact police.
