A 26-year-old man from Paris, Ontario is facing multiple charges after an investigation into a dramatic crash involving a Lamborghini that became airborne before coming to rest in the median of Highway 403 near Brantford.
The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. Sunday when officers with the Ontario Provincial Police responded to reports of a serious collision. Investigators determined that a motorcyclist and the Lamborghini driver had allegedly been racing on Pottruff Road prior to the crash.
Police say the motorcycle rider stopped, but the Lamborghini driver lost control at the end of the roadway. The vehicle crossed a ditch, entered Highway 403, launched over both westbound lanes, and ultimately crashed into the centre median. Debris was scattered across the highway, and the heavily damaged sports car remained in the grassy median when emergency crews arrived.
Following their investigation, police identified and charged the motorcyclist. The accused faces charges of impaired operation, dangerous operation, and failing to attend court.
Authorities have not laid any impaired-driving or racing-related charges against the Lamborghini driver at this time.
