A townhouse fire in north London early Wednesday morning displaced 12 residents and caused an estimated $800,000 in damage, according to the London Fire Department.
Crews were called to Silverbrook Drive, near Fanshawe Park Road East and Adelaide Street North, shortly after midnight. Firefighters found one unit fully engulfed, with flames spreading to a second unit and reaching the attic. Heavy fire was visible across multiple units upon arrival, but crews quickly contained the blaze, limiting damage to three homes. No injuries were reported.
Initial damage estimates approached $1 million, but further inspection brought the figure down to around $800,000. Fire prevention officers are investigating the cause of the fire.
