A 49-year-old motorcyclist is facing impaired driving and other charges following a serious crash in Cambridge that left both the rider and passenger injured.
Waterloo Regional Police responded to the collision near Water Street North and Ainslie Street North around 6:50 p.m. Wednesday. Investigators allege the motorcycle was travelling at a high speed and being operated erratically before the driver lost control near the split between the two roads.
Both occupants sustained serious injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The rider has been charged with several offences, including impaired operation with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit and dangerous operation causing bodily harm.
Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact investigators.
