An early morning fire in downtown Huntsville damaged two neighbouring homes but caused no injuries.
Firefighters from Huntsville and Lake of Bays responded to the intersection of Lorne and Minerva streets around 5 a.m. Friday after receiving multiple emergency calls. Officials said the fire began in one residence before spreading to an adjacent home.
Crews launched a simultaneous attack on both structures and successfully brought the blaze under control. All residents escaped safely, and all pets were accounted for.
Several nearby roads remained closed Friday morning as emergency crews continued their work. Police advised motorists to avoid the area while the investigation continued.
Authorities are examining the cause of the fire and say there is currently no indication that it was suspicious.
