Two Belle River drivers are facing impaired driving charges after separate weekend crashes that left their vehicles in ditches, according to Ontario Provincial Police.
The first incident occurred Friday morning on County Road 22 near Commercial Boulevard in Lakeshore. Police responded to reports of a vehicle in a ditch and charged a 38-year-old man with two impaired driving-related offences. He also received a 90-day licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
Less than 36 hours later, officers were called to another ditch-related crash on County Road 27 in the South Woodslee area. A 36-year-old Belle River driver was charged with the same offences and was issued the same penalties, including a 90-day licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
