A 25-year-old man was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre after suffering serious injuries in an ATV rollover on private property north of Port Perry on Saturday evening.
Emergency crews responded to the scene near Simcoe Street and Whitfield Road, close to the Trading Post store, around 8:30 p.m. Police say the rider lost control of the off-road vehicle, causing it to overturn.
The man sustained severe, life-altering injuries and was transported by Air Ornge to a Toronto-area trauma centre. He is reported to be in stable condition.
The Durham Police Collision Investigation Unit is examining the circumstances surrounding the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing.
