A firefighter remains in stable condition after being injured while battling a major fire in Blind River early Sunday morning.
The blaze broke out around 4 a.m. on Woodward Avenue, prompting a response from 17 firefighters and five fire apparatus. Crews worked to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading further.
The incident displaced four residents and caused significant damage to three local businesses. One firefighter was injured during the response and was taken to hospital, where they are reported to be in serious but stable condition.
Officials say the affected building sustained extensive damage, while the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
