Windsor police have charged a 39-year-old woman after a hit-and-run collision involving an ambulance in Amherstburg on Monday afternoon.
Officers responded to the 100 block of Pickering Drive shortly before 1 p.m. after paramedics reported a vehicle nearly struck one of them as they returned to their ambulance following a call.
Police said the vehicle then collided with the ambulance, drove over a curb and left the scene without stopping.
Investigators quickly identified a suspect, who was later located at a residence on Hawthorn Crescent.
The woman has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with careless driving and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
