A 19-year-old Kitchener man is facing multiple charges after an alleged hit-and-run collision in Guelph on Thursday afternoon.
Guelph Police were called around 4 p.m. after a woman reported that her vehicle had been rear-ended on Gordon Street South near Wellington Street. The driver of the other vehicle reportedly left the scene following the collision.
According to police, the suspect later attended a collision reporting centre on Clair Road West, where officers detected signs of alcohol consumption. Subsequent testing at a police station indicated the driver had exceeded the legal blood-alcohol limit.
The accused has been charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving, and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
