A 79-year-old man was found deceased following a house fire in Levack early Friday morning.
Greater Sudbury Fire Services responded to a residential fire on Second Avenue and, after extinguishing the blaze, discovered the man inside the home. Despite life-saving efforts by emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sudbury police said the death is not considered suspicious, though the exact cause remains under investigation. A post-mortem examination will be conducted by the Coroner’s Office.
Investigators from the Greater Sudbury Police Service and the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office are working together to determine how the fire started. Authorities have indicated there is currently no evidence of foul play.
