A fatal crash on a Highway 412 ramp in Whitby early Sunday morning claimed the life of a 24-year-old passenger.
Ontario Provincial Police responded to the collision near the Highway 401 and Highway 412 interchange shortly after 4 a.m. The man was transported to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was also taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the crash and continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Highway 412 southbound was temporarily closed at Dundas Street West during the investigation but has since reopened.
Police are asking anyone with information about the collision to contact investigators.
