An e-scooter rider was seriously injured following a collision with a SUV near Carlingwood Shopping Centre on Sunday evening.
Emergency crews responded to the crash on Carling Avenue near Fairlawn Avenue shortly before 8:10 p.m. The injured 55-year-old man was transported to the trauma centre at The Ottawa Hospital for treatment.
A second individual was assessed at the scene but declined transportation to hospital.
Following the collision, Carling Avenue was closed in both directions between Fairlawn Avenue and Iroquois Road as police investigated. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
Update – The e-scooter rider has succumbed to his injuries.
