A man in his 40s remains in critical condition following a head-on collision in Ottawa’s south end on Monday afternoon.
Emergency crews responded to the crash at the intersection of Hawthorne and Leitrim roads shortly before 3 p.m. Both drivers, a man and a woman traveling in separate vehicles, were taken to hospital. The woman was reported to be in serious but stable condition, while the man continues to receive treatment for critical injuries.
The collision prompted road closures in the area as investigators examined the scene. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage and has not yet come forward to contact investigators.
