A Windsor woman is facing multiple charges following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 401 in Lakeshore that left a 10-year-old child with life-threatening injuries.

The crash occurred around 7 p.m. Sunday near Belle River Road in the Woodslee area. A second child, aged 8, was also injured but is expected to recover. Both drivers involved sustained injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Ontario Provincial Police charged the 32-year-old Windsor woman with impaired driving and dangerous operation causing bodily harm. She also received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension, and her vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Police confirmed both injured children were passengers in the accused driver’s vehicle. The other driver involved in the collision is a 26-year-old Windsor resident.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on July 30.
