A two-vehicle collision on the westbound Highway 407 ramp to Plains Road sent three people to hospital and prompted a lengthy road closure on Monday.
Ontario Provincial Police said the crash occurred at approximately 7:45 a.m. One occupant suffered injuries that may be life-altering, while two other individuals were also transported to hospital.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the collision and are examining factors such as driver actions, physical evidence at the scene, road and weather conditions, and whether seatbelt use may have played a role in the severity of the injuries.
The westbound Highway 407 exit to Plains Road remained closed for several hours during the investigation before reopening around 3 p.m.
